Install Better Design MCP in Cortex Code

Setup

    Install Cortex Code

    Skip this if you have it. Otherwise run curl -LsS https://ai.snowflake.com/static/cc-scripts/install.sh | sh.

    Open the config file

    Open ~/.snowflake/cortex/mcp.json. Create it if it does not exist.

    Paste the block

    Merge the Config block below under mcpServers and save. Or run cortex mcp add better-design https://better-design.com/api/mcp --type http -H "Authorization: Bearer <YOUR_API_KEY>" with your key in place of <YOUR_API_KEY>.

    Your key moves to the keychain

    On the first connection Cortex Code stores the headers in your system keychain and removes them from the file. That is expected. An admin can also block servers that users add.
  5. 5

    Check the connection

    Run cortex mcp list, or type /mcp in a session.
