Better Design vs shadcn MCP server
The shadcn MCP server lets a coding agent browse, search and install components from shadcn registries. Better Design gives the agent a design system, design guides and review rules, and its systems install through the same shadcn CLI.
Which should you choose?
- Choose the shadcn MCP server if
- you only need the agent to find and install shadcn/ui components, or components from your own private registry, at no cost.
- Choose Better Design if
- you want the agent to follow a complete design system and written design guidance, and to check each screen against review rules.
- Use both if
